I just think “October” and I start to giggle! I absolutely love the changing weather, the autumn colors, and knowing the holidays are just around the corner. I have to remind myself to remain calm, no panic attacks. I do not have to decorate for all three holidays at once. It’s okay that I haven’t finished stitching the youngest grandchild’s Christmas stocking, it will be done in time…
The month of October offers so many fun events to celebrate besides the enormously popular Halloween! Did you know that October 1st is World Smile Day? Or that October 6th is National Mad Hatter Day? How about National Black Cat Day on October 27th? So much fun to enjoy these other special days while building up to the Big 3!
This month SGR looks forward to kicking off Doris and Sharri’s Program Plan by getting our fabric ready for stitching. I think I’ve narrowed my choice down but glad to have a few more days to make a final decision.
Our October meeting will also see the divestment of the SGR Library. Please look for the special attachment listing what books and binders we have available for purchase and what the minimum bids will be. While it is sad to see the library go away, the divestment offers everyone the opportunity to add to their own personal library.
There are lots of new releases from so many of our favorite designers! Heart In Hand, Teresa Kogut, The Blue Flower, and Fox and Rabbit Designs, just to name a few! The Blue Flower’s “Gather With Joy” really spoke to me with its lovely and I think timely message. We are all so glad to be able to be together in person (with safety precautions) again!
I look forward to seeing everyone at our meeting this month! It will be a busy and fun meeting with lots going on!
