Merry Christmas

No matter if this is your 1st SGR Christmas Tea or your 28th; our December meeting is not one to miss! Our meeting will focus on the Christmas Tea and our always special ornament exchange. I know this year’s Tea is not the same as in year’s past. We still are unable to get together as a group, but I think our virtual Tea will give everyone a chance to enjoy the spirit of the season and a nice hot cup of tea! Each of you should receive a box with your “Virtual Tea Kit”, via USPS. You are welcome to open it whenever you like but please make sure to have it handy on the 13th for our meeting. We will have a brief business meeting prior to commencing with the Tea. As soon as the business meeting adjourns, we will have our Tea and enjoy seeing what treasures have been stitched as part of the ornament exchange! Also, since we cannot hold a physical gathering of toys for the Toys for Tots drive this year, please consider going online to the Toys for Tots virtual toybox and making a donation. Perhaps this year, the need for toys is even greater given the duration of this terrible virus. Keep in mind that for the past three years SGR has been able to completely fill two huge donation boxes! I know we can do it again this year, even virtually!

January’s meeting will mark the halfway point for the SGR year. It’s hard to believe how quickly our meeting year passes. I encourage each of you to watch the newsletter for details regarding our upcoming programs, Seminar, Book Club, UFO Group, and Retreat and Stitching Day. It has been a great year so far, and there is so much more to come!

Finally, I want to say thank you to everyone, the Board and our members, for hanging in there on this very different year. In a year that has been fraught with bad news on top of more bad news, and sadness after sadness, we have held together. To those who have jumped in and helped figure out how we can continue forward as a group under these extraordinary circumstances, I thank you! Those who have stepped forward and offered to do whatever needs to be done, I thank you. To those who “zoom in” and participate, I thank you!

“Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves,” James M. Barrie.

Merry Christmas, and may health and happiness be yours in 2021!
