Summer's Rapid Pass

Summer seems to have made a rapid pass across 2018! It is time to begin the new year for Sampler Guild of the Rockies. This year will provide many exciting opportunities for our members, both new and returning, to acquire new skills or hone existing ones. The Program Team has been hard at work planning a wonderful year including guest speakers, new stitches, and engaging monthly activities! Additionally, the Seminar, Retreat, and Stitch-In are all scheduled as well. I’m sure as you continue to read this newsletter, you will spot many fun events and projects that are certain to get you excited for our meetings this year.

At our September meeting, we will announce the theme for the year and several special events that are planned. Right off the bat (or needle if you please), SGR will have several sign-ups available including this year’s Challenge Projects, Seminar, UFOs, and a special field trip tentatively planned for the fall of 2019. The dates for this special trip to Ft. Collins have not been finalized. The always popular Stash Sale will take place at our October 14th meeting so come prepared next month with coffee and funds! We will also announce other fundraisers for the year and the two Community Service projects that SGR will undertake. The first Service Project will be held at our December 9th meeting. Please take note as we are blending it with our delightful Christmas Tea. We will support Toy for Tots again this year. Watch for those toy sales and let’s see if we can collect as many toys as last year! Finally, our April meeting is much later in the month than usual. Please make sure to take a close look at the dates for all of our meetings.

As a reminder, the church doors will open at 1pm for members and SGR will be called to order promptly at 1:30. The front doors will be locked at 1:30 for safety reasons. If you arrive late, please text a friend to come open the doors and let you in. The business portion of the meeting will conclude by 2pm when we will begin our Program. Refreshments will be offered at the conclusion of the Program. September and October treats will be provided by the Board.

Until next time, TTFN!
