Dear Friends,
September is upon us and that means the beginning of a new year for Sampler Guild of the Rockies. Autumn for the Guild is a busy time of year complete with new Programs, Make-and-Takes, Challenge Projects, and this year an updated website and newsletter! There is a lot going on, and much of it is a fresh take on our traditional topics and features. The Board has worked diligently over the summer to design a special year with interests and talents of our diverse membership in mind. So with that thought, let me introduce a few of the changes you will see.
Our monthly meeting format will be more formal this year. The church doors will open at 1pm for members with the meeting called to order promptly at 1:30. The business portion of the meeting will conclude by 1:45 at which time we will begin our Program. Hospitality will be offered at the conclusion of the Program and not be as robust as in previous years. September, October, and November treats will be provided by the Board. We will ask the membership to sign up to provide simple treats like cookies, brownies, etc. beginning in January. This change is meant to simplify hospitality while still providing refreshment.
Beginning with this newsletter, it is our fervent hope that the addition of photos, sampler designers’ new releases, and upcoming needlework events gets you excited to focus on indoor pursuits because soon the weather will turn. Before you know it, we will happily be in the scramble of the holidays and all of the fun activities associated with them.
Happy stitching,
Danielle Gavito, President
